Let's take a look at one of the most overlooked computers in the entire Radio Shack lineup: the TRS-80 MC-10 Micro Color Computer.
I recently added this complete-in-box example to my collection along with the official 16K RAM Expansion Module and the official CCR-81 cassette recorder. We'll also see what came in the box and, more importantly, find out if this little computer still works over 40 years later.
What's Included:
Introduced in 1983, the MC-10 was Radio Shack's compact, budget-friendly home computer featuring Microcolor Microsoft Color BASIC 1.0 in ROM, along with support for color graphics and sound.
Although it never achieved the popularity of the better-known TRS-80 Color Computer, it remains an interesting piece of computing history and a fun system to preserve and explore today.
Despite its modest commercial success, the MC-10 has become an increasingly collectible part of Radio Shack and Tandy computer history, especially among enthusiasts interested in preserving the complete TRS-80 computer lineup.
