About This Video
Take a trip back to 1988 with "Using MS-DOS," a vintage computer training video released by M-USA Business Systems, Inc. Produced by the VideoLogic team, this instructional VHS program was designed to introduce new users to the Microsoft MS-DOS operating system during the early days of IBM-compatible PCs.
Using a combination of colorful graphics, easy-to-follow explanations, and a relaxed instructional approach, the program teaches the fundamentals of MS-DOS without requiring previous computer experience. It offers a fascinating look at how personal computer users learned to navigate DOS in the late 1980s.
The original VHS release also included a printed reference booklet designed to complement the video and make learning MS-DOS easier. Unfortunately, the booklet was not included with my copy of the tape.
Digitization Details:
As part of my ongoing efforts to preserve vintage computer history, I used my Panasonic DMR-ES46V DVD recorder to convert the original VHS source to 720p HD, ensuring the best possible video quality from this analog media format.
