Queensryche Interview Chris DeGarmo Empire (1990)

Published December 25, 2020

About This Video

Part of a rare audio interview with Queensryche guitarist and founding member Chris DeGarmo recorded during the production of the band's 1990 album Empire. This recording captures a moment from a key period in Queensryche history as the band prepared the release that would include "Silent Lucidity" and define their early 1990s sound.

The interview connects back to the band's earlier releases, including the Queensryche EP (1983), and the early years that helped establish their sound before the Empire era.

Audio was transferred from an original Queensryche vinyl picture disc and preserved digitally along with promotional photography featuring Michael Wilton, Scott Rockenfield, Chris DeGarmo, Geoff Tate, and Eddie Jackson.

For fans of Queensryche, progressive metal, and 1990s music history, this is a preserved look at the Empire era and one of the band's most successful periods.
