@Icyone: I always bid my max bid upfront for auctions so as the auction climbs, so does my bid, but when you get outbid by less then a dollar it’s frustrating because I would, in most cases, be willing to go up that extra dollar.

E-bay encourages it (sniping) always encouraging you to post a higher bid (even when it is not needed-yet.)so when the snipers try at last second the bidding goes up and they prosper more
