Nintendo Donkey Kong Country NES Homebrew

December 24th, 2015 by Sean

Remember Donkey Kong Country (1994) for the Super Nintendo (SNES)? Of course you do!

What if it had been released for the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) back in the day? What would it have looked like?

Yep, that’s right! Thanks to a homebrew gaming group called the “Hummer Team” there is no need to imagine because they released their version in 1997.

I recently found out about this version and thanks to my Nintendo PowerPak, I’m able to play it in the year 2015 on real NES hardware.

Atari Hot Wheels Store Display Kiosk

September 5th, 2014 by Sean

In this video I’m showcasing my Atari Hot Wheels Store Display Kiosk that I picked up about a year or so ago (2013):

This was used to display the Atari 2600 themed Hot Wheels that were sold around October 2012 for a limited time. There were 6 cars to choose from: Tempest, Pong, Breakout, Atari 2600 Woody Bus, Centipede and Missile Command.

Vectrex Vector Patrol (Moon Patrol) Game Prototype

August 13th, 2014 by Sean

In this video I’m showcasing Vector Patrol, a homebrew port of Moon Patrol for the Vectrex game console.

The game is currently in the prototype stage and being programmed by Kristof Tuts known for previous Vectrex homebrews Vectrexians (2007) and Vector Pilot (2011):

In the video you will see flicker on the screen, but that’s only coming from my camera. There isn’t any flicker when playing the game. Basically I’m still trying to figure out how to record gameplay on my Vectrex without flicker using my new camera.

Stop-Motion NES Video

May 27th, 2010 by Sean

With 120+ hours of spare time up his sleeve, YouTube user bornforthis43 set up a camera, got some items from his garden and fridge, then made this awesome stop-motion tribute to the games of the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The three minutes of footage is comprised of over 7,000 individual photos, and if you’re wondering, the games in order are Kirby’s Adventure, Contra, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man 2, and Super Mario Bros.

May 10, 2013: Apparently the author of the original video I posted back on May 27, 2010 deleted his original YouTube channel and made a new one, so I updated my post to not have a broken video.

The Vendor Client Relationship

May 18th, 2010 by Sean

As most of my friends know, I’m a web and graphics designer. I also do custom programming and build website applications.

With my line of work, I have ongoing vendor and client relationships which brings me to the video below:

IMHO this video pretty much describes how the typical vendor client relationship can go – worse case scenario.

I’m sure as you watched this video, you were wondering:

Has Sean had client and/or vendor relationships like this video?

In my 12+ years of consulting, I can honestly say that the answer is yes, however they are not all this way because if they were, I would have stopped consulting a long time ago.
